Day 37

Call to Prayer

God, I am slow to pray, and yet you call me to come boldly to your throne of grace. Though I often stumble, you receive my prayers, not because of eloquent words, but because of Christ. Help me now. Amen.

Silence

Psalm 133

Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!
It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the LORD has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

Prayer of Response

Lord, you are calling every tribe, tongue, and nation to you. Your truth flourishes in every culture. We pray you tear down the walls of division that are not rooted in the gospel. We pray that our preferences would not lead to division but would leave room for teachability, even change. Humble us, O God. Amen.

Prayers of Supplication

For greater diversity in our church.
For the gospel to flourish in our neighborhood.
For a spirit of hospitality that challenges our comfort zones.
