Moving to 645 E High St

Important details to know before the first service in our new building.

Arriving

Parking

We are blessed with two parking lots that have a combined 65 spots! You can reference our parking map above to see where parking is available, but one thing we would like to communicate ahead of time is that we would like to prioritize the parking lot directly behind our building for those needing assistance to enter the building, as well as those with young children. And, if you enjoy getting some steps in, consider leaving spots close to the church open for folks who are visiting for the first time (or for friends who are just running late).

During Worship

Moving Around During Worship

As much as possible, please use the stairs at the back of the Sanctuary (the ones that go down to the basement) if you or your child need to use the bathroom, if you are taking a child to the Nursery or cry room, or coming back to the Sanctuary with your child after the sermon. Your extra steps will help us have a service with fewer distractions and more opportunity for worship.

Communion

This is the component of our worship that will feel the most chaotic in a new building. On top of that, collecting your kids from a three-floor Nursery wing will take more time than before. The staff and leadership will be tracking how things go during the first few weeks and will make adjustments as necessary, so we thank you in advance for your patience as we work out some of the details. If you have an idea for how to improve the logistics, we’d love to hear it! But rather than telling us in-person right after the service, please email us at contact@hopelexington.org. Thank you!

No Kids On Stage

It has always been a joy to see our kids filling up our spaces with laughter and smiles after the service ends. At our new location, however, the stage will be off limits for kids, because it will be covered with many more cables and some brand new equipment. Parents, will you help us encourage your kids to release their energy in the Lower Level Common Areas instead on the stage? Thank you for your help with this change.

Nursery Check-In

  1. The Nursery Check-In Desk is located in the Lower Level, and the easiest way to access it is to enter through the Clay Ave entrance.

  2. Check-In will begin at 9:45 and end at 10:15. If you arrive after 10:15, ring the doorbell to the left of the Nursery Check-In Desk and a Hope employee will come down to help you check in.

  3. We have two iPads at our self check-in station, you can use either one to type in the last four digits of your phone number. Your child should automatically be place in a room based on age, but feel free to talk to a staff member if you would like them to manually place your child in a different room.

  4. When you complete the check-in process on the iPad, all of your labels should print automatically (and the label printer cuts each label individually).

  5. One of the labels it will print is your security label with a barcode printed on it (see example below). THIS SECURITY LABEL IS REQUIRED FOR CHECK-OUT, so please take it with you.

  6. After receiving your labels, you can take your child up to their room.

  7. After dropping off your child, you can exit the Childcare Wing of the building through whichever level you would like (locked doors have a “Press to Exit” button at eye level).

Nursery Check-Out

  1. The Check-Out window starts at the end of the sermon, and ends 15 minutes after the service.

  2. All parents must visit the Nursery Check-In Desk in the Lower Level before picking up your child.

  3. A Hope employee will scan your Security Label. A successful scan of that barcode is what allows you access to the Childcare Wing.

  4. When you arrive at your child’s room, a worker will match your security label with the child’s nametag.

  5. Once you have picked up your child, you can exit the Childcare Wing through whichever level you would like (locked doors have a “Press to Exit” button at eye level).

Children’s Church

The children will meet at the front of the Sanctuary during the Greeting of Peace. They will be escorted to their classrooms on the 2nd Floor by their teachers. They will return to the back of the Sanctuary prior to Communion. Please remind children to stay with their teachers going to their classroom and from the classroom back to the Sanctuary.
